Cultivating Hawai'i's Future Leaders

The McClellan Family Scholarship was created to support students who embody the values and skills fostered by speech and debate, also known as forensics. The skills honed in speech and debate, such as effective communication, critical thinking, and respectful discourse, are essential for self-ownership and the development of a strong personal identity. This scholarship is a testament to this belief, aiming to empower the next generation with the tools they need to succeed in their future endeavors.

The McClellan Family Scholarship is offered in partnership with the Pauahi Foundation. The scholarship supports graduating high school seniors and alumni of the Kamehameha Schools in Hawai‘i. Preference is given to students of Native Hawaiian ancestry and to the current or past president, officers, and members in good standing of the Kapālama campus’s speech and debate team. Recipients of this scholarship may have it renewed for up to four years, allowing for continued financial support throughout their undergraduate studies.
